Developing curious learners in our unique nursery by the river.
Thanks to our wonderful building, facilities and super team, we are able to care for up to 70 children from 3 months to 5 years. Every space has been thoughtfully planned out to encourage different sensory experiences and learning through play.
River House Nursery was founded in 2023 by me, Alex Jones, after twenty years working in early years education and planning for my own setting.
I'm a dad of two brilliant boys, husband to a very supportive wife and together we love to go on new adventures and have plenty of fun!
In 2019, I was awarded Nursery Manager of the Year at the Nursery Management Today Awards. An amazing accolade that I was so proud to receive. I thought then that my career has peaked. Fast forward four years, and I have achieved another great feat: the opening of River House. This is our place; a very special place and we think you're going to love it like we do. I'm thrilled to see my dream come to life and to be able to pour all my experience, ideas and passion into creating this nursery, is fantastically exciting!

Our Parent Partnership
As an early years provider, we are committed to building and maintaining a strong and supportive relationship with parents and caregivers. We really value your input in your child’s early years education and we want to work together to provide the very best support.
Here’s what we do to ensure that we can be a super team:
• Communicate - we are always here to chat and listen; an ongoing dialogue is vital. We also have regular catch ups where we can talk in more detail.
• Share - we keep you informed of activities and progress via Famly, our online portal, and love to hear about what you’ve been up to at home too.
• Support - with your input, your child’s key worker will create a personalised plan focusing on your child’s social and emotional development.
• Nurture - tell us all about your child’s unique curiosities and passions so that we can ensure they are engaged and stimulated.
• Advise - if you have any concerns about your child’s development, we are here to provide expert guidance to help you to access the best support possible.
